Eric Lance is a wildlife biologist, conservation practitioner, and research collaborator with more than fifteen years of experience in ecological science, habitat assessment, and wildlife conservation across the Midwest. His professional work bridges applied environmental consulting, academic collaboration, and nonprofit research leadership.

Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech. He is currently a Ph.D. student at Antioch University in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Conservation Biology. His academic and professional background centers on wildlife ecology, wetland systems, habitat function, and the conservation of native game and nongame species. His work has included large scale habitat assessments, wetland delineations, regulatory permitting under the Clean Water Act, threatened and endangered species evaluations, and ecological restoration planning.

Through GreenWing Conservancy, Eric focuses on advancing science driven conservation initiatives that integrate rigorous research with practical, landscape level outcomes. His current interests include waterfowl population ecology, genetic dynamics within managed landscapes, nesting structure evaluation, and the ecological consequences of land use change. He collaborates closely with academic researchers, state and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private landowners to promote evidence based conservation strategies.

In addition to his scientific work, Eric is deeply committed to education and public engagement. He has taught university level coursework in natural resources and permitting, mentors students pursuing careers in conservation, and develops STEM based programming that connects youth directly with wildlife science and field research.

Eric’s vision for GreenWing Conservancy is to create a collaborative platform where research, habitat conservation, and education work together to sustain resilient wildlife populations and healthy ecosystems for future generations.
